Fire station 82

43 Somerdale Road, Blackwood, NJ 08012

856-282-3370

A fire station with three garage doors at dusk.

Constructed in 1948 with an annex added in 1982, the facility on Somerdale Road encompasses four engine bays and serves as the headquarters for our administrative personnel and offices. This station is operational with career staff who adhere to a rotating 24-hour shift schedule across A, B, and C platoons. Depending on the specific platoon on duty, responses may also be coordinated from the Blackwood Clementon Road substation. In addition to our career staff, our volunteer personnel are integral to our operations, responding to incidents from their residences and participating in the Duty Crew program, which entails commitments of 6-hour durations, often extending into overnight shifts.

The station is equipped with a comprehensive fleet, including an Engine, Tower Ladder, Heavy Rescue, Squad, Medic unit, and five auxiliary support vehicles. It is tasked with responding to all emergency calls within District #2 and offers support to our mutual aid partners, as necessary. This multifaceted approach ensures a broad and prepared response capability, reflecting our commitment to community safety and effective emergency management.
