Effective Sunday, June 1st, 2025, David Haines assumed the role as the next Chief of the Chews Landing Fire Department, replacing outgoing Chief Mike Millisky.
Like his predecessor, Chief Haines has a long history as a volunteer firefighter. He began his service in neighboring Glendora as a Junior Firefighter in 1998. He then joined Runnemede in 2002, where in addition to Firefighter, he also served as the company Vice President. In 2012, he came to Chews Landing, and in that 15 years, has risen through the ranks, culminating with his current position as Chief.
In his new role, Chief Haines will continue to ensure that the residents of District #2 and our Mutual Aid neighbors receive a rapid, efficient, and high-quality emergency response. He also seeks to enhance the department’s capabilities through ongoing and expanded training, new and upgraded equipment acquisitions, and ongoing strategic planning. As always, he holds high expectations of our volunteers and career staff to be committed, dedicated, and professional in fulfilling the department’s role as a cohesive team, while maintaining adherence to its policies.
Please take this time to welcome Chief Haines as he enters his new role and wish him the very best of luck!
