Being the victim of a fire is a stressful experience. We want to help make the recovery process easier. Take a look at the resources and information below. If you still have questions, please contact us.
Additionally, FEMA has put together a free “After The Fire” PDF that you can download here:
If You Are Insured:
The first thing to do after a fire is to contact your insurance company or agent as soon as possible. If you are renting or leasing the property, you must also contact the owner. Your insurance adjuster may be able to assist you in making immediate repairs or help in securing your home. If you are unable to contact your agent and need professional assistance in boarding up your home, you may contact a general contractor or a fire restoration company.
You may also obtain a copy of the fire report from our fire station located at 43 Somerdale Rd, Blackwood, New Jersey 08012.
Fire Reports are usually completed within 72 hours of the incident.
If You Are NOT Insured:
If you are not insured and need assistance, The American Red Cross is available to assist families who have been displaced from their homes through any disaster. They are available around the clock, every day of the year, with food, clothing, and housing.
Please contact them on their website (https://www.redcross.org/local/new-jersey/about-us/locations/southern-nj.html) or by calling 856-365-7100.
