Yesterday shortly before 1pm, Chief and Engine 82 responded to Gloucester County as part of an Engine Strike Team to assist with a large Brush Fire at the former Eagle Point Refinery in WestDeptford. The Strike Team staged at Red Bank Elementary School as part of a Structural Protection Taskforce, ready to deploy should the fire threatened any nearby houses or buildings. Crews were able to adequately contain the fire, allowing the Strike Team to be released after approximately 90 minutes.
Just as they reached the vicinity of the Gloucester Twp. border, Camden County Communications dispatched an Apartment Fire on Waldon Ct. in the Lambs Terrace section (85's local) of the Township. Both the Chief and Engine immediately redirected to the fire. First arriving units confirmed a working deck fire on a 2nd floor unit, prompting an upgrade to the All Hands. E82 arrived and was tasked with checking the rear of the building for any further fire extension and extinguishing remaining pockets of fire in the roof before being released.
Several hours later they responded once more, assiting Engine 88 with a dumpster fire in La Cascata.
