In the early morning hours of July 4, 2002, Chief Jim Sylvester, Fire Marshal John West and Firefighter Tommy Stewart left the comfort of their own homes to respond to a dwelling fire with three little girls trapped in Gloucester City, New Jersey. These brave men entered the burning dwelling several times in a valiant attempt to rescue the girls. Tragically, the house collapsed during the recue attempt, resulting in the deaths of the firefighters and the trapped children. Please keep them and their loved ones in your prayers to remind them that we will never forget their sacrifice. Rest in Peace Brothers.
